Photography book project centered on John Adams’s opera “Nixon in China” and its libretto by Alice Goodman.

• 10 digital photographs (black and white)
• 10 short texts written using a diary, letter, and poem format
• Book design

The book presents 10 imaginary written documents by the main characters of the opera, the main figures of the 1972 summit between the U.S.A. and the Poeple’s Republic of China.

The documents were written using material from the opera’s libretto as well as my own research on the historical event.
Each of these texts was then illustrated through black and white photography.

The project was brought forward under the supervision of Prof. Alessandra Spranzi (Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, Milan).
